Greetings from New Jersey USA and DJ Laura

I am a person who was diagnosed with Young Onset Parkinson's Disease in 2010. Since that time, life has somewhat changed for me as Parkinson's is a progressive neurological condition. However I am focused on living my life to the fullest in spite of the challenges this disease presents. In 2016 I underwent DBS surgery.  A few years ago, I joined Radio Parkies as a DJ. I enjoy music and via this platform, I'm able to reach out to others with Parkinson's.  I'm also involved with Team Fox, the fundraising arm of the Michael J Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research and have attended and hosted many events. Being involved with both the foundation and Radio Parkies has enriched my life.
 
I reside in the New Jersey Shore area with my husband and two sons. I enjoy the beach, reading, music and being a DJ on Radio Parkies.  My hope is that through mine and other's stories about our journey with Parkinson's , I will connect with all of you while sharing some of my favorite songs and artists.
